Dallfy
3D Stage

Block every shot before you pay for it

Put your people in the room, place the camera and plan the move. Dallfy writes the staging into the prompt and sends the layout with it, so the video comes back framed the way you set it.

A 3D room for planning every shot

The 3D Stage is a simple 3D room inside Dallfy where you plan a shot before a video model makes it. You put grey mannequins where your characters stand, choose how they pose, place the camera, pick a lens, and plan how the camera moves and where the light comes from.

Video models draw well, but they are poor at following directions about space. A sentence like "Mara sits on the left and Dev walks up to her" can come back with the two swapped or the camera somewhere else. The Stage turns your layout into words the model reads and pictures it can see, so the shot comes back the way you planned it. Laying out a shot costs no credits.

Where it fits when you make a film

  1. Bring your script Dallfy splits it into scenes and short blocks, one shot each.
  2. Open a block's 3D Stage Place the people from the script in one press, then move them, pose them and set the camera.
  3. Commit, then render The block's prompt gets a paragraph describing the layout, with the layout and the camera move attached as pictures. Render the block as usual.

Place people from the script

One press reads the block's lines and puts everyone where the script has them, facing the person they talk to. Then drag anyone where you want them.

Poses and sizes

Dozens of poses in five tabs, from pointing to a hug, and a height and build for each person, so a child looks like a child next to an adult.

Lens, height and light

Choose a lens from 14 to 135 mm, raise or lower the camera, and say where the light comes from and at what hour. The camera's view changes as you go, and so do the words the video model gets.

Checks before you commit

The Stage reads its own plan for what would come out wrong: someone cut off by the frame, behind the camera, too small to read, or standing inside a table. The checks are free and run on every change.

One layout, several cameras

Stage a whole scene once and shoot each block from its own camera: a wide, an over-the-shoulder, a close-up. Every block keeps the same room and the same people in the same places.

First and last frames

The view at each end of the move, redrawn as a picture of your own cast and place, for the render to open on. Drag the handle to compare the 3D layout with the picture.

What the video model is told

Commit writes one paragraph from the plan and attaches the layout and the move as pictures. This is the paragraph for the scene above, written live as you change it.

Stage your first shot

Every film's blocks open on the Stage. The Help Center has six short lessons, each on a practice Stage that checks what you do.
