Upscale a clip in four steps

A block in a film's Edit, or any video you upload on the Tools page under Upscale.
Choose an upscaler
Topaz, Topaz Starlight, or Flux in two modes. Each card says what it is for.
Pick the size
2× or 4× for Topaz and Starlight, 1080p, 2K or 4K for Flux. The price for your clip is on the button before you press.
Press Upscale
The new file appears beside the old one when it is done. If the upscale fails, your credits come back.
Which upscaler to choose
Topaz
For most clips. It sharpens and enlarges a clip 2× or 4×, and it is the quickest and the cheapest.
Topaz Starlight
For soft or old footage. It restores detail at 2× or 4×, and can take up to two hours.
Flux, keep faces
For people and products. It enlarges to 1080p, 2K or 4K and keeps faces as they are.
Flux, more detail
For places and wide shots. It adds fine detail, and faces can change a little.
Questions about upscaling video
What does an AI video upscaler do?
It makes a video larger and sharper. It works out the detail a bigger frame needs, so a 480p clip at 2× comes out at 960p with that detail filled in, where plain resizing would only stretch the same pixels.
How long does an upscale take?
Topaz upscaled a 15-second 480p clip at 2× in under a minute when we tested it. Topaz Starlight can take up to two hours. You can leave the page while it works; the new file waits for you in your Library.
What does it cost?
It depends on the upscaler, the size that comes out and how long the clip is. The price for your clip is on the button before you press, and if an upscale fails your credits come back.
Which clips can Flux take?
Clips up to 20 seconds and up to 2K. When an upscaler cannot take your clip, its card says why before you press, and the other upscalers stay on offer.
Will the faces in my video change?
Topaz, and Flux in its keep faces mode, enlarge what is there without redrawing it. Flux in its more detail mode and Topaz Starlight add detail, and small things in a face can change.
Can I upscale a video I did not make in Dallfy?
Yes. Open Tools, choose Upscale and upload the video from your device. A clip you made here can also be upscaled from its film's Edit.
